![]() My Linksys EA-7500 is configurated with the address of 192.168.12.1 and manages the DHCP based on mac address of all my devices all the way to 198.168.12.253. I still don't get it, let me more precise. ![]() Including if cascaded router got to be involved or not. The more I read about the BGW320-500 the more I get confused.Ĭan someone write down the full check list of configuring BGW320-500 as a passthrough gateway to your own router. Therefore discovered there was also the notion of cascaded router. I found a lot of threads on this passthrough topic on this forum and outside. Security > Apps and Gaming > Single Port Forwarding > e.g. My Linksys Router 7500 has not changed withĬonnectivity > Internet Settings > Connection Type = Automatic Configuration - DHCPĬonnectivity > Local Network > Linksys IP address 192.168.12.1 subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP: 192.168.12.50 to 353 The BGW320-500 is set to Firewall > IP Passthrough > DHCPS-Fixed > MAC Address of my Linksys router. I am very happy with ATT optical as it is very fast and reliable, however the port forwarding is not working. The BGW320-500 is setup as a passthrough on fixed ethernet address of Linksys router. I was very excited ATT brought the optical to our neighborhood a couple of months ago and jumped right in. When I switched from the ATT DSL to the Comcast cable, I just set their equipment as passthrough gateway et voila, no change on my Linksys router and all worked perfectly. I don't own any external fix IP addresses, but my lorex security system provide me a free address. ![]() This is why a lot of people want to disable all routing and wifi capabilities of their current internet supplier's equipment to use it as a gateway passthrough to their own router (I have a Linksys EA-7500) where they manage their own DHCP tables, Wifi networks, and whatever DMZ port forwardingthey need. Broadband internet providers come and go: cable, DSL, optical, etc. ![]()
